Homemade Almond Milk

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of raw almonds (soaked overnight)
  • 3.5 - 4 cups of purified water
Optional ingredients:
  • 1-2 dates (pitted and skin removed)
  • cinnamon
  • vanilla extract or vanilla bean

Directions

  1. Soak almonds for about 8 hours in purified water.
  2. Rinse almonds and mix with water in blender.
  3. Blend on the highest setting for a few minutes until smooth.
  4. Strain mixture into an airtight glass bottle using a nut mesh bag or mesh sieve. ( I use a funnel for precision)

This milk should keep for up to a week. The leftover almond pulp can be used to make homemade almond butter or be used as almond flour.

Welcome to The FitCleanMom Blog

Welcome to my Clean Eating and Fitness blog. I decided to start this after several of my friends had mentioned that I really should start a blog about my clean eating.

I want this blog to be about motivation, fun and accountability. I hope to share my clean eating recipes, fitness experiences and tips with others. For me clean eating was a lifestyle change that I made many years ago. My children were my inspiration to become the best possible version of myself. I want to be fit, healthy and happy for them. In turn I hope I can teach them how to live a truly healthy life and enjoy it!! So I have now begun weight training in hopes of gaining muscle and becoming even more fit. I am hoping this blog will possibly inspire others as well :)

Welcome to my blog and I hope to see others share in this journey with me. Please share any tips, recipes or experiences you wish!
